All I could think of this morning was The Odyssey as I watched “rosy-fingered Dawn come bright and early,” slowly spreading light across the frozen valley. In case you’re wondering, there was no clearheaded Telemakhos, no wine-dark sea, though it was a balmy 20° on top of the mountain. December 2020.

I am a high school English teacher and self-taught photographer from Charlottesville, Virginia. I love being outside in any capacity, whether it is running, hiking, or practicing photography. I mostly take photos of the natural beauty in this world, but I do occasionally photograph individuals, families, and events. Chasing the best light is my main passion, as I am a total geek for a radiant sky. Conveniently, I do not sleep much, so I get to catch a lot of sunrises, which is my favorite time of day.
