Artist's Description
The final morning of the trip, a day when I hadn't even planned to take photos, wound up having the best light. I woke up way too early after a wedding and stuck my head out the door to discover the first traces of warm light hitting the clouds in the sky. Grabbing my camera, I raced up to the square to get a clean photo of Agua Volcano dwarfing the city of Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and then framed that scene through the Santa Catalina Arch. March 2020.

I am a high school English teacher and self-taught photographer from Charlottesville, Virginia. I love being outside in any capacity, whether it is running, hiking, or practicing photography. I mostly take photos of the natural beauty in this world, but I do occasionally photograph individuals, families, and events. Chasing the best light is my main passion, as I am a total geek for a radiant sky. Conveniently, I do not sleep much, so I get to catch a lot of sunrises, which is my favorite time of day.
