On my way to scout for wildlife, I was initially disappointed to see heavy fog when I awoke. Just as the sun neared the horizon, the fog began to lift, leaving a fleeting, golden incandescence for just a few brief minutes. It was eery being surrounded by such powerful beasts, only to have them meld in and out of the foggy conditions. July 2018.

I am a high school English teacher and self-taught photographer from Charlottesville, Virginia. I love being outside in any capacity, whether it is running, hiking, or practicing photography. I mostly take photos of the natural beauty in this world, but I do occasionally photograph individuals, families, and events. Chasing the best light is my main passion, as I am a total geek for a radiant sky. Conveniently, I do not sleep much, so I get to catch a lot of sunrises, which is my favorite time of day. The mountains and the deserts of the American West are my favorite places to photograph landscapes, and I will chase wildlife wherever I can.
