Description
Casa Grande is a well known landmark in Big Bend National Park. Located up in the Chisos Mountains Basin, it is visible from almost every angle in the mountains. The little cabin in the image is one of the Roosevelt Stone Cottages which were built by the CCC during the Great Depression. I have been lucky enough to stay in them on a few of my visits to the park. The night sky in Big Bend is Amazing--there are no big cities or even large towns nearby, so the Milky Way is stunningly bright. It is hard to explain to someone who hasn't seen them how bright the stars there are at night. One night, camping with my father, we had to turn our tent around because the light from Venus was shining so brightly it was keeping us awake.

This is a remarkable composition, and the lights of the cabin are so welcoming and warm. I had to look up Big Bend National Park as I had never known about it. What a gem of a place. I like how you have painted this in a bit of an art deco style.
