Description
I love zinnias, especially the giant cactus and giant dahlia kinds. No matter how hot it gets, they keep blooming, giving me armloads of beauty to bring inside.It is always fun to watch a new plant from a packet of mixed color seeds start to bloom, and wonder what color it will be. The models for this painting are from a patch of cactus zinnias that come up voluntarily each year. I never know what colors will come up, and it is always a happy surprise. This is the second version I have painted of the final bouquet I cut just before the first frost.
