Artist's Description
A vintage Danish movie poster of ''From Here to Eternity'', a classic American film released in 1953, directed by Fred Zinnemann and based on James Jones' novel of the same name. The film is set in the months leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II and is known for its portrayal of military life and personal relationships against the backdrop of impending war.
The film's plot primarily revolves around the lives of several U.S. Army soldiers stationed at the Schofield Barracks in Hawaii. The central characters include:
First Sergeant Milton Warden (played by Burt Lancaster): He is the tough and stoic non-commissioned officer in charge of G Company. Warden becomes romantically involved with the neglected wife of his commanding officer.
Private Robert E. Lee "Prew" Prewitt (played by Montgomery Clift): Prewitt is a talented bugler and a stubborn soldier who refuses to join the company boxing team due to past traumatic experiences. His determinatio...
