A vintage reprint of the movie poster for ''From Here to Eternity'', a 1953 American drama film directed by Fred Zinnemann and based on the novel of the same name by James Jones. The film boasts an ensemble cast that includes Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Deborah Kerr, Donna Reed, and Frank Sinatra, among others. It is considered one of the classics of American cinema and won eight Academy Awards, including Best Picture.
Set in the months leading up to the attack on Pearl Harbor and during the early days of World War II, "From Here to Eternity" explores the lives and experiences of U.S. Army soldiers stationed in Hawaii. Burt Lancaster plays the role of First Sergeant Milton Warden, Montgomery Clift portrays Private Robert E. Lee Prewitt, and Deborah Kerr is Karen Holmes, the wife of the commanding officer. Frank Sinatra delivers a memorable performance as Private Angelo Maggio.
