Description
This painting won the First Place Award in the Women Painter's of WA show in Bellingham, WA at Cordata Gallery! The unique point of view of this California Tree Poppy caught my eye and Heronswood Garden in Kingston, WA. It was in motion, dancing in the breeze and I knew it would become a wonderful painting in this large widely horizontal format in my new series "From darkness blooms". The original painting is part of an April 2023 show I'm having with other festival poster artists at the Scott Milo Gallery in Anacortes, WA. My show is titled "From Darkness Blooms" to show the beauty of flower during dark times. The original is floating on white archival backing and framed with a white metal frame.
The artwork is professionally photographed to bring its best results of reproduction on all the prints and products on Fine Art America. I hope it brings you as much happiness as I receive from it!
I’ve been using watercolor and ink brush line in my illustration work for nearly 20 years, but in a much more controlled and predictable way. My pictures appear on book jackets, ads, posters, logos and packaging all over the country and Canada. If you’d like to see my world of client driven projects, check out my published artwork at http://sandyhaight.com. My Watercolor Life Drawings and Sumi paintings can be seen in other sections of this etsy shop and on my fine art web site at http://sandyhaightfineart.com.
I was honored to be the gold medal winning poster artist for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival in 2016 with my watercolor painting of a tulip bouquet.
In 2012 I qualified to be a signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society (NWWS). This is earned by being juried into a select number of local chapter and international watercolor society shows sponsored by NWWS. The initials now follow my signature on recent watercolor paintings.
