New Year Resolution

At this time of the year, we start to really focus on finishing last minute details and plan for the new year. If there is an artwork: photo, drawing, painting, sculpture etc., Add your image to give the world a hint of your New Year's Resolution dedication.

My goal is to do my best not retire.

Nice Goal. I'm sure there are tons of other goals waiting to be heard....

Well since you and I are the only ones who care on this wonderful thread, I have another goal and that is to work towards my new collection in May at a high-end gallery. My paintings will be themed "Inspired by nature by Negative Painting." I plan on working very hard on this collection with a goal setting journal. So there.

My new year's resolution is to create awesome "one of a kind" work for my show in May. I know, that's boring, but it is what it is.

My goal is to get over two thousand images on FAA and be done with the first draft of my new book.

This is inspiring Yuri. I would love to know about your journey and the book. I am a heavy procrastinator....kudos to you.

It sort of looks like artists don't make many resolutions.

I make some about what I plan to do in the coming year regarding everything from travel to home improvements but never art. Somehow my creativity doesn't want to get stuffed into a box that way.

Hi, Leighton,
I'm not sure if the topic of my published book is of interest to you.

It is a nonfiction book - "Subsurface History of Humanity: Direction of History." It is published on Amazon under my pen name - Victor Torvich.

Not to out spend my income... HAHAhaaaa... good luck with that... lol

Lisa Kaiser

That's a good goal, Ed. I'm on that path as well.

Mine is to spend less time on the PC. Most of it has proved time and time again it's a waste of time. Addiction is not good!

Enrique, I totally agree with you. I just have little choice due to work. Social Media is another one though.

Great goal Enrique Riki!!

Less time on forums etc., finish my third book, find a real publisher this time, as opposed to self publishing, get out more if I can, more marketing, more networking in the art world. It would be nice if I can find somebody who can help me a little with all that. It’s getting harder by myself.

Oh and continue my part time job in cyber security and my volunteer work for Bridge to Hope food pantry

I am setting goals all the time. It does not matter to me if they are at the beginning of a new year or not. New Year's resolutions have a tendency to fade fast. I am already working on my first show in February. I like to add for the rest of the year and of course, create new work. Get back into networking with other artists. Take the time to smell the roses and have some fun. Last year my nose was much to the grindstone.

My Goal in 2023 is to Load the Palette! I have not painted much this past year. Spent most of my time working on hand glazing Giclees and framing artwork for showings.
So hope to create some new works and do at least 2 paintings a month or maybe even 1 every week! Wish me luck!

Wishing all the best to you all in 2023!

Nothing relating to artwork specifically. I hope to move house in the New Year. That will take up much of my time if it goes ahead so time spent on my artwork may inevitably suffer as a result. I keep planning to try and expand in some way my creative endeavours, so that could be something I suppose. Needs some more thought though so perhaps I'll think a bit more about that in 2023 :)

Is everyone sticking to their New Year Resolution? If not Why not? If so, How?
Share your thoughts and add an artwork that connects your resolution.

Is this now an approved image thread?

My image is just a personal one, not for sale, so hope it’s okay. YES, we are sticking to our resolution! Husband and I made a joint resolution. Now that we are empty nesters we decided to make traveling around this country a priority, starting this year. In January we drove from Texas to Iowa and purchased this sweet little motor home. We will take our two little dogs and head out in it to various state and National parks and see other landmarks along the way.
This includes another resolution I had, which was to scale back my Etsy and eBay selling of my art. So that resolution is also being fulfilled. Closed my eBay permanently, and my Etsy will be closed for who knows how long, lol. So in reality, I’m fulfilling two resolutions. Feels great!

I understand our footprint in the world is important, but I want to lesson the weight of my footprint and make more time to do the things I love. Like take more pictures, make more artwork, and share more interests with my husband.

Beautiful RV Donna. I am inspired by your proactive stance towards your goal. Also, I would like to do the same Linda.
