Sky blue pansy cutout
Light blue garden pansy in closeup view, flower cutout.
The name "pansy" is derived from the French word "pensée", meaning "thought", and was imported into Late Middle English as a name of Viola in the mid-15th century, as the flower was regarded as a symbol of remembrance. The name "love in idleness" was meant to imply the image of a lover who has little or no other employment than to think of his beloved. In Scandinavia, Scotland, and German-speaking countries, the pansy is or was known as the 'stepmother' while in Italy the pansy is known as 'flammola' (little flame).

"Rhode Island Red - Rooster Head Profile" by Patti Deters. In this closeup head shot profile of a Rhode Island Red, you can see the texture in the red comb and wattle. These poultry birds are one of the most popular of the domesticated farm animal breeds because they are great egg layers, hardy, and are actually friendly. The feathers are a deep auburn or burgundy color and the combs are a bright red. A full grown rooster can grow up to 8.5 pounds. If you like this animal portrait, please see more (avian, birds, portraits, more) at patti-deters.pixels.com.

Millen First Baptist Church Corner by Kathy K. McClellan is an image created for Day Two of the Three Day THREE Challenge.
The First Baptist Church in Millen, Georgia (USA) was organized in 1885. This original structure was built in 1911.
This view of the church was chosen for the THREE Challenge because of the three examples of architectural fixtures being repeated three times.
Although there are actually four finials on the steeple there are only three showing in this photograph. There are three rows of windows going up the front of the steeple and three keystones over the door and large stained glass window.

Walking Along The Coast - Morrow Bay
The Morrow Rock can be seen in the distance behind the strolling pedestrians (yeah... they help to bring scale) on the coastal pathway in Estero Bay. I had to catch the distance shot before the fog had disappeared completely. If you view the details along the shore you can see teams of wildlife. Very tranquil.
Central California would be my choice if we ever decide to relocate again in this state. (Ah... if only the air would clear!)
