Vibrant color and stunning attention to detail brings Melin’s art to life! Sometimes playful and always creative she often reveals symbolic storytelling in carefully crafted images.
Melin Baker has always been an explorer, art lover and entrepreneur. Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in the Southern California coastal town of Ventura, CA where she still lives today with her dog Sophie.
She started her professional career as a fine art printmaker within an artist cooperative at the beach called Seaward Village. She went on to hone her graphic, painting and illustrator skills with classes from the top artists locally and is now learning new techniques from artists around the globe such as a recent class in oil and wax painting from a studio artist in France.
Melin once owned a small but successful graphic art and web design company Webfoot Studios. Her web design, animation and graphic art was awarded 1st place by the prestigious Editor and Publisher in conjunction with her town newspaper for a yearlong journey recapturing the Lewis And Clark trail.
Her art has found new homes with patrons across the country in both personal collections and public settings. She is dedicated to environmental issues and participates as a core member of Gallery 1111 Pollinators Project , Supporting pollinators through art! The mission is to advocate for the conservation of pollinator and wildlife habitats.
