Description
I needed to paint in the relative shelter along the shore so I set up near where Aleta was painting the tops of some oak trees. This location was out of the wind and in the sun - much more comfortable.
This is looking eastward toward a group of the Brock Isles. The island in the foreground middle is Victoria Island. Victoria Island was once owned by my friend John Ross Matheson. He told me how he had cleaned up the out houses that dumped right into the Saint Lawrence. After he had cleaned up the ravaged island, he gave it back to the Canadian public.
Mile Island is to the left and the larger Skeleton Island with the beacon is to the back right. I do not have the name for the really small island to the right. Mallards quacked in the shallows and it was a beautiful afternoon until the sun sunk behind a bank of clouds approaching from the west.
The photographer from the Recorder and Times stopped by and had snapped my picture before I even knew that he was there. This image ran on page three of the Saturday November 22nd, 2008 paper. There were probably a few people around who thought that they remembered that "Phil Chadwick" name from somewhere - maybe school.
