I bought this as a gift for my daughter and she loved it. The tuxedo cat painting was beautifully done. The blue and purple background was perfect to showcase the artist rendering of the cat.
Base painting of the vintage movie poster for ''This Island Earth'', a classic science fiction film released in 1955, directed by Joseph M. Newman. The movie is based on the 1952 novel of the same name by Raymond F. Jones. It stars Rex Reason, Faith Domergue, and Jeff Morrow in leading roles.
The story revolves around Dr. Cal Meacham (played by Rex Reason), a brilliant scientist who receives a mysterious package containing instructions for building a device called an "interocitor." Intrigued, he constructs the device and soon finds himself recruited by a secretive organization led by the enigmatic Exeter (played by Jeff Morrow).
Dr. Meacham, along with fellow scientist Dr. Ruth Adams (played by Faith Domergue), is whisked away to Exeter's hidden laboratory, where they discover that Exeter is an alien from the planet Metaluna. Exeter reveals that his planet is under threat of destruction by hostile aliens, the Zahgons, and he needs Earth's scientists to help him defend Me...
