A vintage movie poster reprint of ''The Pride and the Passion'', a 1957 American adventure film directed by Stanley Kramer and starring Cary Grant, Sophia Loren, and Frank Sinatra. This film is set against the backdrop of the Peninsular War during the early 19th century and features elements of action, romance, and historical drama.
The story is set in Spain in 1810, during the Napoleonic Wars. British naval officer Captain Anthony Trumbull (played by Cary Grant) is tasked with leading a group of Spanish guerrillas in a daring mission. Their goal is to transport a massive, cumbersome Spanish cannon, known as "El Cid," across enemy territory to the city of Ávila, where it can be used to repel the French forces.
Sophia Loren portrays Juana, a fiery and passionate Spanish guerrilla leader who joins Trumbull's mission. Frank Sinatra plays Miguel, another member of the guerrilla group. As they embark on their perilous journey, tensions rise, and romantic entanglements develop...
