"The Amazing Colossal Man" is a 1957 science fiction film directed by Bert I. Gordon. The film is known for its low-budget special effects and its contribution to the giant monster genre that was popular during the 1950s.
Plot:
The film centers on Colonel Glenn Manning, portrayed by Glenn Langan, who becomes the titular "Colossal Man" after a tragic accident. While leading an army mission to test a new nuclear weapon, Manning is caught in the blast, which causes him to grow to an enormous size. Initially, Manning is hidden away in a government facility as he grapples with his transformation. As he grows larger and more disfigured, he becomes increasingly unstable and seeks to escape confinement. His towering size and rage make him a threat to both himself and the people around him.
