Description
This image depicts a Northern Harrier gliding in silhouette over the landscape with a fiery Shenandoah Valley sunset as its backdrop. This artistic editing project is a composite of two originals. The first captured a late-December 2020 sunset over the mountains pretty much as it appeared on that evening; i.e. breathtaking. The second captured a mature Northern Harrier gliding over a field behind our home in mid-Summer. I isolated the bird, rendered it as it would appear in silhouette against such a backdrop, and combined the two images. Although certainly not photo-verite, the result of this digital art editing experiment is certainly eye-catching.
