Description

The fishing pier in Venice, Florida is a great place to watch the sunset at the end of the day. The pier extends 700 feet out into the blue waters of the Gulf of Mexico, and is very tall. It is located in Brohard Park at the southern end of the island of Venice. There are two restaurants on the end of the pier: Sharky's and Fins. Caspersen Beach is just down the road where fossilized sharks teeth can be found. This is one of the most popular landmarks in Venice. On this night the clouds hung low enough to the horizon that when the sun came down below them the color burst into very soft warm colors. The waves of the Gulf of Mexico are rolling onto the beach. If you zoom into the image you can see people fishing from the pier.
