Description
Around many of the lake and rivers of Florida you find not only alligators but you also find snakes! Lots of them!!! On this outing I saw no less than 10 in a two hour period. This is the most common snake around water. It is the Water Moccasin, or Cotton Mouth. They are poisonous, but bites are rare. This snake was in a branch out of the water. As can be seen by its eye it is time for this snake to shed it's skin. A very common thing for the spring of the year!

Amazing capture, Marvin....I hate snakes but do know they keep the mice and rat populations down...So glad we don't have these water moccasins. f/l
