My attraction to nature and plants can be explained in the same way as my attraction to the built environment. We superseded nature with our built habitat and then we put it back into our spaces in little pots with soil in it. Orchids are a typical example of that, except for the fact this plant is not even a native spice of the climate I’m living in. I have many of them and I’m always trying to keep them alive again and again. But what is this obsession?
In recent years, I have used OSB as a basis. By retracting the paint layers, I use the texture of the veneer as part of my compositions to create a unique rustic industrial atmosphere. Due to the OSB board, these works of art are very stable but heavy. This is recycled art.
The painting is made with self-made paint, which basically consists of pigments and beeswax. Does not contain oil or other paints.
The procedure itself dates back to antiquity and has been known for thousands of years. Only few artists around the world work with wax on their own.
The encaustic is equipped with a simple wooden exhibition frame, which harmonizes with the industrial style of the painting and highlights it well. Ready to hang!
This work will be delivered with Care Instructions for my encaustic paintings and a signed certificate of authenticity. Carefully packaged and tracked shipping. I ship this work in cardboard boxes careful wrapped in bubble foil and protect the painting with cardboard. Free shipping
