San Francisco, Northern California, USA - Seen in one of the garden areas of the San Francisco Zoo. Lion's Tail, also known as Lion's Ear or wild dagga, is a semi-evergreen shrub in the mint family. A native of South Africa, it also grows in other places with subtropical or Mediterranean climates, such as California, Hawaii, or Australia. It serves as a source of nectar for birds and butterflies. Various parts of the plant have been used for pharmacological purposes.
Photography has become my passion in these last two decades. I'm really drawn to older objects, vehicles, and buildings, in which I see the beauty of rust and decay, but I also enjoy animals, flowers, trees, rocks, landscapes, and so many aspects of nature. I also enjoy architectural features, outdoor art, charming scenes, and unusual things. Living in California and now in Wisconsin has provided many fine things and places to capture, but I have also been fortunate enough to travel to some interesting places that have provided plenty of photographic opportunities.
