The California pepper tree is a quick-growing evergreen tree that is drought tolerant. It produces red fruit that looks like peppercorns, but this tree is not related to true pepper trees. It is originally from Peru, but has been planted in a number of places around the world, where it has naturalized and become an invasive species. These trees are used for landscaping in California.
Photography has become my passion in these last two decades. I'm really drawn to older objects, vehicles, and buildings, in which I see the beauty of rust and decay, but I also enjoy animals, flowers, trees, rocks, landscapes, and so many aspects of nature. I also enjoy architectural features, outdoor art, charming scenes, and unusual things. Living in California and now in Wisconsin has provided many fine things and places to capture, but I have also been fortunate enough to travel to some interesting places that have provided plenty of photographic opportunities.

Thank you very much, Rick. Someone else mentioned she had never seen one of these trees even though she had lived in California. I only recall seeing them from the last 10 or 15 years. Their brilliant fall colors and bright red berries make them a favorite of mine.
