A vintage movie Japanese poster reprint of ''Santa Fe Trail'', a 1940 American Western film directed by Michael Curtiz and starring Errol Flynn, Olivia de Havilland, and Ronald Reagan. The film is loosely based on historical events and is set against the backdrop of the pre-Civil War era, focusing on the conflict between abolitionists and pro-slavery forces during the 1850s.
The story follows two central characters, Jeb Stuart (Errol Flynn) and George Custer (Ronald Reagan), who are both graduates of West Point Military Academy. They are assigned to duty at Fort Leavenworth in Kansas, where they become entangled in the volatile and politically charged events of the time.
At the heart of the film is the conflict over the issue of slavery, which was a major factor contributing to the tensions leading up to the American Civil War.
