Description
Here we find a woman refusing to believe the lies that are being told to her. You can see by her expression she seems to be going along with the game, but if you look closer is she the one telling lies to the clown. Or do they both lie to each other to keep up the pretense of a relationship.

Oh Laurie thank you so much for the compliment and the wise words your Dad expressed to you and your sister. I really and I do mean really appreciate you and all you have done to support me and my artwork. Hugs!

Fabulous expressive art about the human condition, Carolyn! This reminds me about some advice my Dad always gave to my sister and I. He always said, remember this....you can be married for many years, know someone for many years and never really know them. I think he was trying to prepare us for life and how people can change, and hide so much about themselves for many years. Bravo!! Beautiful painting of wisdom!!

Such expressive figures in this dramatic scene. Looking at the image after reading your thoughts makes me think of past relationships that had been doomed from the start. We never know at the onset of things... it takes time to learn that the person beside you may not have been exactly who you thought them to be. Wonderful work once again my friend. Amazing.
Carolyn LeGrand replied:
We express it all and lay it out on the table of the human condition. We are Artists! The viewer gets to see how she really feels about the man she is looking at....a clown. Then he in turn,is looking at who she really is a bitchy, aggressive, predator. They both are beginning the journey into denial and disappointment
