Description
Ever since I first read about them as a child, the prehistoric cave paintings of Lascaux have fascinated me. My "Homage" series honors that ancient art with my own personal interpretation of them. My intent is not to copy the art, but to attempt in some way to enter the minds of the makers and feel something of what they felt.

Fifty years ago on a trip to Spain I toured Lascaux. Wish I could do it again. This turned out nicely.

A most amazing and colorful addition to your wonderful series Marsha!! I think this one is my fave, so many animals and an interesting background as well. Beautiful art!
Marsha Reeves replied:
Thank you Sharon. Each of my cave painting series is an exploration into the technique and mindset of the original painters. I'm slowly working my way into doing more complex images.

I have the same admiration for the Lascaux Cave and had the chance to visit it albeit a replica as the real one is protected and closed from public view. I doubt if those people were 'primitive' at all if they could create such art. You did such a wonderful job Marsha. I love the colouring of them!
Marsha Reeves replied:
Thank you Ibolya. I agree--nothing "primitive" about these artists' minds for sure.
