Base painting for the vintage movie poster ''Hollywood Revue of 1929'', a musical comedy film released in 1929, directed by Charles Reisner and starring a plethora of Hollywood stars from the era. The film is a revue-style musical extravaganza, showcasing various acts, comedy skits, and musical numbers performed by popular stars of the time.
The movie features a series of vignettes, musical performances, and comedy sketches, interspersed with appearances by notable actors, singers, and dancers of the era. Some of the featured performers include Joan Crawford, Marion Davies, Marie Dressler, Anita Page, and Buster Keaton, among others.
"Hollywood Revue of 1929" was one of the first "all-star" films produced by MGM Studios and was intended to showcase the studio's top talent in a variety of entertainment genres. The film includes musical numbers ranging from lavish production numbers to intimate performances, as well as comedic skits and vaudeville-style acts.
