Description
Country charm combining a hay baler and bales. The baler is used to compress cut and windrow crops such as hay, or silage into compact bales that are easy to handle and transport from the field. The stored bales are used as feed throughout the year for livestock.
This is a vintage baler that makes smaller round bales than the much larger ones in the background. I grew up on a farm and used such a baler. It was a noisy machine that shook rattled and rolled with lots of belts and pulleys. The rolled bales were left to cure in the field for a few days to dry before being collected om to a wagon and hauled to the barn. If the hay was stored still wet, heat from internal combustion would cause a fire in the hay loft.
