The wolf stands watch beneath the moonlit trees,
A guardian fierce, yet noble in his grace.
With eyes that gleam like pools of frozen seas,
He stands his vigil in this sacred place.
His coat of grey is dappled by the light,
A wraith that haunts the shadows of the night.
But though he moves with silent, stealthy grace,
His presence warns all creatures in this space.
For he is guardian of the forest wild,
A sentinel of nature's ancient power,
And all who enter here must be beguiled,
Or face the fury of his lethal hour.
So let the wolf stand watch beneath the moon,
A symbol of the wilderness untamed,
A creature fierce and proud, a primal boon,
Whose howl resounds with all the world unnamed.
