Description
I created this impressionist, semi-abstract, painting from my imagination. It is actually two paintings in one, as I painted over another completed painting I had done, but was not quite happy with. So needless to say there is a lot of paint on this canvas. I created the scene intuitively as I applied the paint, with a general goal to paint an image of a dull, cold, fall day. I wanted the painting to have an organic, grainy, quality to it and so I chose to apply the paint in a rough way with a lot of scraping, scumbling and scratching.
I love going for walks in the forest on days like this and then head back to the comfort of a roaring log fire at home. So peaceful! I hope this painting brings you peace.

It’s funny though, I partially deconstructed this painting half way through and it completely changed it’s feel and projection taking me along with it. Funny how this happens.
