Oh this tugs my heartstrings. My father smoked a pipe and this is very reminiscent of his favorite pipe. Portland Rose tobacco was his brand, and although I detested the smoke at the time, every once in a while I catch a whiff of Portland Rose coming from someone on the street, and I find myself walking faster to get closer to the scent. For a few fleeting moments, I am in his presence again. Thank you for this image, and a most heartfelt F.

Lillian...so beautifully painted..a long, LONG time ago, my husband smoked a pipe...Borgkum riff...cherry pipe tobacco...he had a similar looking stand and pipe...even a meerschaum pipe of a Viking head...so many memories from this beautiful painting...CONGRATS on your sale and in this contest...v...best to you
