Description
The exquisite beauty of Fishhook Barrel (ferocactus wislizeni) cactus flowers as found in Tucson Mountain Park and Saguaro National Park west of Tucson, Arizona. These vividly colored flowers vary with each and every cactus, from bright yellow to deep scarlet red and seemingly every shade and variegated combination between, including these deliciously peach toned blossoms.
Theses flowers crown the round to cylindrical shaped cactus in late summer, and only bloom in the searing heat and blazing sun of mid-day in the desert. But findings such as this make all the sweat and toil worthwhile.
