Description
Santa Clara, Northern California, USA - Eucalyptus is a genus of over 700 species of flowering trees, shrubs, or mallees in the myrtle family, Myrtaceae. They are also known as eucalypts. Most eucalpyts are native to Australia. They are highly flammable. At least one eucalypt had been cut down in this area of the Nature Area.
Taken in the Ulistac Nature Area, which is about 40 acres of park along the Guadalupe River. It is the only dedicated natural open space in the City of Santa Clara. Beginning in 2001, hundreds of volunteers have spent many hours removing invasive species and instead planting California native trees, shrubs, grasses, and wildflowers. There are trails through most of the area, but no facilities are available.
