Description
Egyptian Geese have, in recent years, colonized many aquatic areas in Texas. They are actually not true geese, nor are they ducks, although they are related to both. They are, in fact the last living member of of their own group of waterfowl. I found this pair along the Guadalupe River in a park in the nearby town of Center Point, TX. They are very beautiful birds, and interesting to observe, since no two are exactly alike. As they are not sexually dimorphic, it is hard to tell males from females--although the males tend to be larger. Egyptian Geese mate for life, and I suspect from their behavior that these two may be a bonded pair.

Just saw this love them. We have a pair that sometimes come up the bank to our back door and eat cracked corn.
