I absolutely love this photo of Hazel. My first visit to the Smoky Mountains was in April 2017. I have been searching for a black bear photo for years and this one stole my heart. This beautiful girl was photographed the same year. I am very pleased with the canvas print!!

Amazing creation and work. I love how you have the courage to keep building. I always ruined them when I did that. Love this.
Douglas Fromm replied:
Thanks, Bunny.....I ruined many creations over the years by overworking them, it is easy to look back later and realize when I glued on the “ piece that broke the camel’s back “. Then I realized that I could take a print or giclee of a work and collage on it instead of the original. That approach worked fairly well on this variation !
Laurie's Intuitive
Wonderful image, Douglas! Amazing creativity that I could look at and look at and always find something in it that I didn't see before!
Douglas Fromm replied:
I always appreciate your compliments, Laurie.....many years ago I realized that some people enjoy “ finding things “, so I started adding more details. Maximalism, perhaps ?
James Higgins
Awesome work Douglas! Great composition–every element is always in the right place. (That was a very lucky door prize winner.)
Douglas Fromm replied:
Thanks James.....it turned out better than I had hoped for....I sometimes wonder who won and if they still own it after 13 years !
Michael J Cooper
A favorite song and an excellent representation of that time. Mike
Douglas Fromm replied:
Thank you, Mike….This work was created in 2008, and I had forgotten where the title words came from. I must have seen an article about the song….
Vic Eberly
Nice work Douglas. I like the mostly-balanced composition of this image. And the central pair of eyes is great.
Douglas Fromm replied:
Thanks for your insightful observation, Vic…many years ago I read an article about “ Asymmetrical Symmetry “, and realized that I had being using this technique by intuition. Your phrase “ mostly balanced composition “ is a perfectly simple description that will make it easier for me to explain to the very few people that ever comment about my work being “not balanced right “
