Description
Dawn from Portmeirion, looking out over the Dwyryd Estuary, Portmeirion, Gwynedd, Wales, United Kingdom, January 2022. I am not an early riser, but in January in the UK, neither is the sun; my partner and I were lucky enough to wake up to this view from our window one morning.
Portmeirion is a tourist village in Gwynedd, North Wales, United Kingdom. It was designed and built by Sir Clough Williams-Ellis between 1925 and 1975 in the style of an Italian village. The village is located on the estuary of the River Dwyryd (Afon Dwyryd in Welsh). Portmeirion has served as the location for numerous films and television shows, most famously as "The Village" in the 1960s television show The Prisoner, starring Patrick McGoohan.
