Description

Pan taught him to sing and play the syrinx, and sometimes is presented as his mistress. It was protected by the Muses, who inspired the love of poetry. It is said that before he pastors led a wild life and the civilized Dafnis, teaching them to respect and honor the gods, and spread among them the cult of Dionysus, celebrating solemnly.
