I paddled north through the Whitefish River into Charlton Lake and set up on a very nice floating dock. The westerly breeze was chilly and the observation of rainbows belied the cold drizzle drops that further chilled my hands. It was cold enough that the paint got gluey but it still went on the canvas even though the drizzle had lubricated the tooth of the weave.
The forecast was for more sun and a bit of heat. However the polar vortex was still keeping Killarney on the cold side of the weather pattern.

I paint outside - nothing between my eyes and the inspiration. That special connectivity gets into the pigments and you quickly realize that we are all stewards of the land, privileged to appreciate its beauty during our lifetime but responsible for leaving the environment better off for the future and all inhabitants...
