Description
On a very cold, early January morning, as I walked to work on the path along the creek that runs through Boulder, Colorado, I came across this beautifully reflective scene. I was enchanted with the sunrise bouncing off of the water and the icy edges of the creek. The Rocky Mountains provided a distant backdrop for my painting.

Art is unquestionably one of the purest and highest elements in human happiness. It trains the mind through the eye, and the eye through the mind. As the sun colours flowers, so does art colour life. -- Congratulations on your recent sale of this sale.

My Grandfather once owned a log cabin near Rollinsville, off a dirt road named Moon Gulch. There is a bridge across Boulder Creek nearby. We visited there a few years ago and it had not changed much even though Denver is not far away. Lovely work of heART here, Anne!....Fav / like

What a shimmering and luminous winter scene Annie! It works so nicely because of the strong lights and darks and the dark stream shadow perfectly leads the eye back. You have also captured one of the most challenging parts of a winter scene, the water versus the frozen stream. Magnificent!
