I JUST finished this 22.5" x 15.5" watercolor on Sept. 8th (2023) -- "National David Day!" (Because I missed being able to finish it in time for my younger brother David's 60th birthday, two days earlier!) David is famous for saying (when someone's done something extra nice), "Awwww -- you're a peach among the onions!" I know he "invented" this little saying, because he hates onions -- and I've never heard anyone else say this, ever! Ha! Anyway, I put these lovely onions, lit up by the Golden-Hour-Lighting, on a sweet little quilt hand-made by a neighbor woman from my brother and my childhood. She made it for me after I had breast cancer in 2010, and it's such a meaningful gift which I have on a rocking chair in our living room, every day of the year. That sweet little peach in the middle of it all is a nice tribute to my "baby brother" whom I adore!

Thank you so much, Anjuna -- this one really was a challenge -- so many details and I spent longer on this painting than I think I've ever spent on another watercolor!! Ha! But it will always be one of my favorites now, so I think it was worth it!!

Thank you so very much for such a kind, warm comment, Anita! It was really fun to put this all together for my brother, and he really does treasure it. (As for my cancer being a thing of the past ... I wish that were true. I have a genetic mutation for cancer, so will never really be in remission, and have had it 3X now. But ... I am living JOYFULLY, enjoying every extra day of life, and painting as much as I can ... until my last breath on this earth!)
