I bought this as a gift for my daughter and she loved it. The tuxedo cat painting was beautifully done. The blue and purple background was perfect to showcase the artist rendering of the cat.

The movie is notable for its place in the history of science fiction cinema, particularly during the 1950s, when the genre gained popularity.
The plot of "This Island Earth" revolves around Dr. Cal Meacham, a brilliant scientist played by Rex Reason. He receives a mysterious electronic device in the mail, along with an invitation to join an exclusive scientific organization called "Unity Laboratories." Intrigued, he accepts the invitation and travels to the organization's headquarters.
