Unusual Patterns in Nature Photography

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SUBMITTING!!!

**This contest is sponsored by the Go Take a Hike Photography Group; any images submitted should represent things that one may find out on the trail, in a natural setting – unless contest rules specifically allow exceptions.**


Contest Logo: Frozen Dream – Tiny pockets of rising air and multiple cracks give a interesting look to the ice on a frozen Dream Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park.


Show us any natural scene which demonstrates an unusual pattern, following these rules:


1. Photography Only. No digital alterations, digital painting, mixed media, selective color, false backgrounds, added graphics or text allowed.


2. Show us any image captured in a natural environment where there is an UNUSUAL PATTERN present, whether it be strange patterns in the bark of a tree, or funky veins in a rock, a bizarrely twisted reflection in a pond, etc. Your subjects must be natural objects. See contest logo for an example.


3. Your images must be of natural scenes found within a natural environment. Any scene captured in any kind of garden, yard, neighborhood, rural area, or built-up area will NOT be allowed. People, pets/domestic/captive animals and man-made objects are NOT allowed. Patterns created from man-made influence (such as the cross-section of a cut log) are NOT allowed.


4. As always, there is ABSOLUTELY NO VOTER SOLICITATION ALLOWED in any Go Take a Hike Photo Group contest. Please allow your images to speak for themselves! Also, no position-bumping. If you submit images, then leave them where they are. Pulling and resubmitting to get your images to the front will result in your images being removed.



I reserve the right to remove any photos which do not meet the contest parameters. I look forward to seeing everybody’s work!

Each participant may submit 3 images.

1)   You must be a member of PixelsMerch.com in order to cast votes in this contest.   Your account must have been active at least 30 days prior to the start of the contest in order to vote.

2)   You may only vote once per image.

3)   You may vote for as many images as you like... but only once for any given image.
