Los Gatos, Northern California, USA - This is the outer door for the former Forbes Flour Mill, a 4-story mill built in 1854 by James Alexander Forbes along the Los Gatos Creek. The town that grew up around the mill was first known as Forbes Mill, then Forbestown, and finally became Los Gatos (The Cats, referring to the indigenous cougars and bobcats). The mill is State Registered Landmark No. 458. The Forbes Mill Museum operated in the mill's stone storage annex from 1982 to 2014.
Photography has become my passion in these last two decades. I'm really drawn to older objects, vehicles, and buildings, in which I see the beauty of rust and decay, but I also enjoy animals, flowers, trees, rocks, landscapes, and so many aspects of nature. I also enjoy architectural features, outdoor art, charming scenes, and unusual things. Living in California and now in Wisconsin has provided many fine things and places to capture, but I have also been fortunate enough to travel to some interesting places that have provided plenty of photographic opportunities.
