ASL is music to my eyes.

ASL, or American Sign Language, is the most beautiful and graphic language on the earth. Concepts are portrayed in the air, the hands creating meaning like a painter uses color to evoke feelings. Just as we hear a rise and fall in a melody line, the essence of music is captured in the pulsating movement of signs set to music. There is nothing more gratifying. In this painting, one hand sweeps backward and then forward near the palm of the opposite hand and within the curve of the other arm, much like a choir or orchestra leader beats out the music that is played, thus artistically portraying the sign for MUSIC.
