My 1st entry for Abbie Shores' Edit Challenge 68. I'll call this one Edit challenge 68a.
I processed the image with additional vibrancy, also highlighting the light portions of the sand. I added sunbeams and a lens glare as well as a colorful sailboat and subtle reflection. I added a semi-silhouette of Miss Hannah (Abbie's Dog), and a man in a beach chair petting the dog while both watch the sunset. I included a shadow for both and a subtle vignette.
The original photo was donated for editing by Grace Carpenter. Thank you Grace!

This Edit This 68 image was created from a photo supplied by Abbie Shores from Grace Carpenter (Thanks, Grace) for the contest. The manipulated image was cropped with the colors hyper saturated and a stacked yellow & orange starburst effect added. I was going for super atmospheric with an ethereal touch. (2022)

This Edit This 68 image was created from a photo supplied by Abbie Shores from Grace Carpenter (Thanks, Grace) for the contest. The manipulated image was cropped with the colors hyper saturated and a stacked yellow & orange starburst effect added. (Same as "Edit This 68 - Hyper Dawn), but I flipped the image upside down for super atmospheric with an ethereal, yet alien touch. The sea becomes sky and the clouds are now waves. The grasses become as tropical tree leaves. (2022)

Thanks Abbie. I tried to keep it simple. Each version added another crop, bringing the image closer each time. I hope you can see the original bones in each of them. Overall textural and atmospheric.

In case anyone is curious, this picture was taken at sunrise on a beach behind the hotel I was staying at near Kitty Hawk, NC. I love seeing what you guys can do with this picture!

My 2nd entry for Abbie Shores' Edit Challenge 68. I'll call this one Edit challenge 68b.
In this version, I added a volleyball net with two guys playing in silhouette. In addition I made other modifications in the normal adjustments of lighting, contrast, vibrancy, vignette, highlights, etc.
The original photo was donated for editing by Grace Carpenter. Thank you Grace!

Just for fun... The following versions are from the "Edit 51 challenge. They will not be entered in the new edit 68 contest...
In this version I recreated the old theme of buried treasure. I added a pirate ship, boat, pirate captain and half buried treasure chest in the foreground. I created shadows for the added elements and highlights for the sandy shore.
I added a little girl flying a kite that is designed to look like an Octopus along the ocean beach.
I added a Mother and daughter sitting on a log facing the ocean as the sun begins to set in the horizon. (I recently captured the mother and daughter at Fort Smallood Pk in Pasadena Maryland on 6-25-21 during a sunset over the Patapsco river.)

An amazing glass beach
This is the wonderful glass beach close to the Mackerricher State Park, near Fort Bragg, in California.
It's a famous touristic attraction, a very unique and dreamy beach, probably covered with the highest concentration of sea glass in the world.
Although years ago this location was used as a dump, through time, sea water and wind, nature has amazingly transformed all the glass into this beauty.
Sea glass comes in all colors, shapes and sizes and takes 50 to 100 years to form. The beach is now protected, you are not allowed to take any pebble.
In case you are wondering, yes, it's safe to walk on this beach! :)

Hello I have done an other one and I prefer to enter this one, please, because at the moment it's one of my favourites. Instead of Ischia we are going to Florida.

The shell capital of the world
The shell capital of the world is how the Sanibel Island, in Florida, is known.
As the name suggests, the beaches of this barrier island are covered with beautiful seashells. The incredible abundance and variety of shells have made this island a great attraction for all nature lovers and one of the best shelling spot.
To create this artwork I worked with acrylic colors and natural wax on a wood panel. Oh, And with beautiful natural seashells, of course!
Thank you again!
