Moonlit Pond Reflections at Longwood Gardens III is a digital painting I made from a photograph taken one evening while visiting the outdoor waterlily display. Among the waterlilies and singing bullfrogs I found this vining aquatic plant with interesting leaf structure and yellow blooms. Growing horizontally along the water's surface, the vines and leaves stood out against the dark water like an abstract sculpture while feathery roots floated just below the surface. The moonlight cast dark inky shadows in the water. Painted in shades of blue and gold.
