My first image for 2022 is from my original photograph from a visit to the Florida Panhandle with added digital enhancements, texture and painterly-style effects.



If you are lucky enough to take a slow drive going east, or west, on Florida County Road 30-A between Destin and Panama City; you will find many beautiful scenes. There are several small communities, state parks, public beaches, bike paths, walking trails and much more to see along the Emerald Coast on the Gulf of Mexico. In one of those small communities with a rather unique and artistic name, over Western Lake, you may even be lucky enough to see ... A Sunset At Watercolor.

Margerie Glacier is in Glacier National Park in Alaska. This small looking boat is not small actually. But beside this mountain it appears diminutive. Margerie Glacier is one of the most active and frequently visited glaciers in Glacier Bay and in the Glacier National Park. It extends upstream for a length of 21 miles.

The mirror is reflecting the scarf, festive bow earrings and diamond bracelet worn earlier in the evening, much like the wearer reflected on the events and activities of the past year.

Purple and Yellow Violets

Violets and pansies are both flowers in the genus viola, and are sometimes difficult to tell apart. Violets have two petals pointing upwards and three downwards; pansies have four petals pointing upwards and one downwards. These purple and yellow violets were photographed at the Botanical gardens in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

Tail End by Kathy K. McClellan is an image created for Day Thirty One of the Journal 2022 Challenge, a 365 day Personal Art Challenge.

This photograph was chosen for today's image because it has something in common with today. It shows the tail end of a convertible Ford Thunderbird, at the tail end of the day and today is the tail end of the month.

Yes, today is the last day of the month of January. And yes, that photograph was taken at the tail end of the day as the sunset was producing pale hues of blue, pink and white as the background for that image.

Ford started producing the T-Bird, as it was affectionately known, for the 1955 model year. They were manufactured from 1954-1997 and again from 2001-2005.

Just as this 1959 model was not the last to be produced, this month is not the last month of this year. Eleven more months will make up the year 2022 just as the Ford Thunderbird was made throughout eleven distinct generations.

"Joyful Inspirational Deer Fawn"

I digitally stitched two captures vertically of electric cables running through a corridor towards Nabbs Creek in Pasadena, Maryland. Green grass bordering a gravel access road with a rain puddle mid-way along the trail draws the eye upward toward the steel tower supports. A blue sky with billowing clouds accent the top portion of the scene. A slight mist is also present in shaded areas as the sun starts to warm the surrounding ground.

This beautiful phalaenopsis orchid grows on my palm tree. The blooms are spectacular. A creamy white with yellow centers and yellow buds. Also known is a moth orchid. It loves the South Florida climate.
