What's Your Favorite Rose Or Flower

I love all flowers, but here is my Perfume of a Rose watercolor painting for you.

Who can resist a beautiful rose? I can´t. In a summer garden the beautiful rose blossoms in vibrant colors grab my attention. My eyes are enjoying the bright colours and the various shapes of the petals. Then my nose wants to smell the sweet scent of the roses. A delight for all senses.
And then I want to paint the flowers.
In this watercolor painting Perfume of a rose I wanted to capture the beauty of a warm peachy orange rose blossom and the scent of flowers, fresh fruits and summer feeling. Enjoy!

This is likely my favorite as I do like irises.

Inspiration For The image...

The colour or name comes from the French word "cerise", meaning cherry. In the 1950s, a popular brand of colored pencils, Venus Paradise, had a colored pencil called Hollywood cerise which was this color. Before being renamed Hollywood cerise in the 1940s, the color had been known, since its inception in 1922, simply as Hollywood!

I love orchids. Their sweet scent is most prominent at early morning, when the pollinators are at their most active. Despite the delicacy of their appearance, they are quite resistant flowers, they can live for decades, some have been alive for over 100 year!

Tended to these flowers/roses in our very own garden, arranged them as a birthday bouquet for my mom, and last but not least: digitally pastel-ized them! :D Enjoy...

My Mom says her mom's favorite rose is the "double delight" (the pink & creamy yellow one). I tend to think of yellow roses as my favorite because they symbolize friendship (and yellow is so cheerful). I planted/ take care of a yellow rose bush myself... here's one of the first fruits of that rose bush (plus others in our garden)! In this case it may not have received a "prize" in a flower show, but I do consider it to be an offering in gratitude for the "prizes" of the Holy Spirit displayed here (as I labeled the glowing circles of each candle I lit -- in this photo I took above it all)...

Finally there's this little embroidered flower I "produced" too. :) My one and only embroidered flower. Yellow,
my favorite. And little, because not all flowers get to be roses, as Therese "the Little Flower" used to say! :)

I love the colour combination of Wisteria. Purple and mauve with a touch of yellow contrast is perfect.

BEAUTIFUL ROSE FLOWERS

That is an impossible question for me to answer since my wife and I have the largest u-pick flower farm in our state. But sunflowers are among our favorites.
