I would dearly love an ON and OFF button for products. There could be a main one that turns off ALL products (except for prints of course), but there could also be an On and Off for each and every item. It takes a very long time to go through and blank out each and every space on those products that have many sizes, etc. An On and Off option would be heavenly!

You know how FAA/Pixels has the 20% off program? It would be GREAT if we could also have a FAA/Pixels generated COUPON code that is 20% off! That makes it clear for buyers to know how much they will save. With our coupons, I always have to explain that I don't know how much they will save because I cannot discount FAA portion. I can tell them it's 20% off of my mark up, but that tells them absolutely nothing about how much they can save. 20% is 20% off the total and would make it soooooooo much easier to offer a coupon!

such that anyone can switch intuitively

I have been asked recently if I offered high quality tempered glass cutting boards with my art work on them. Could be a good idea.

YES, Donna, YES! Great idea!

Several members, including myself, made images specifically for Collection Logos. In FAA/Pixels you can upload the image, mark it as the logo, hit Submit. After it becomes the logo you can then delete that image but it will still show as the Collection Logo.

On our premium sites the image disappears from the Collection Grids when we delete it.

I would like for that image to continue to show in the Collections' Grids on our premium site when we delete the image.

It is great idea to create something new every day, because art is everyday life, each and everyone has it, so you have to discover it within you.

I'd like to see what are sometimes called themes... I tend to work up my photos on a black (or very dark) background, and find they then look different when displayed here at FAA against a white background. Context or "surround" is well-known to affect appearance, so it would be nice to have some control/flexibility here.

Would really like to see links open up in a new tab back in the Groups discussions.

I would like to see a one-link signature being (once again) allowed in the forums. I realize that anyone who may want to view my work can click on the avatar - but I much prefer people browse on my premium site (rather than the FAA/Pixels profile), which is what I like to include in my sig. USPictures.com

More products fulfilled from out with the USA must be a priority. I do not know how many or what percentage of artists/photographers come from out with the USA, I bet there is though a significant number. I cannot image how many sales have been lost as a result of high shipping costs and import duty, both of which FAA have no control over, but surely FAA must lose a high volume of sales.

I find it difficult to promote many products because I am in the UK, I am sure there are many artists and photographers from Canada, Australia, UK and the EU who have lost out and feel the same about fulfilled orders, shipping costs and import duty.

It would be nice if there was a "duplicate title notice" when you key in the title for an image.
So you don't load a different image with the same title as one previously loaded in your galleries.

Bob Decker

It would be nice if artists could send buyers a thank you note. We don't need to see the buyers identity or email address, this the ability to send a note saying thanks. It could help to bring the buyer back to our other pieces.

I saw a great suggestion in another thread for buyers to not have to have an account to purchase.

Peggy Collins

If a buyer tries to contact us through their collector account via the "send private message" button, their email is marked as sent, however the message isn't actually sent. It goes to No Man's Land and the artist doesn't receive the message. Therefore the buyer will think that the artist is ignoring them. (Discussed in this thread - https://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=6860620)

Please either enable the contact button on collectors' accounts, or get rid of the contact button.

Probs too hard, but it would be cool if we could arrange the list of the groups we are in in alphabetical order (or some other order of our choice), so they are a bit easier to find

James McCormack

We can sort newest to oldest in this ( general) discussion.

It would be nice to see the same in group discussions. I imagine it would be relatively simple to reuse the same piece if code.

Fully back up Donna's suggestion!

I support Kall3bu, the country on the list is not enough. You can't find Ghana in there.
I was trying to register PayPal, but I can't find Ghana in the country list.
The administrators have to do something about it.

It has been suggested that I put my suggestion here.........about the 20% Sale banners. There's a consensus
in Forum that my suggestion be placed before FAA here....... as follows:

Please change or add to the 20% Sale notice..........and call them......FLASH SALES . That term is better
understood by the buying public, I am sure you would agree, FAA.

Thank you.

In bulk price editing - would be nice if there was some sort of formula that doesn't affect those items you have blank because you don't want that image available on that product or it doesn't affect images that aren't even large enough for that product.

For example, not all of my images are available on shower curtains because that image may not be large enough. But If I want to change the price on a shower curtain, I have to go to bulk edit because I have so many images, and then when I do, it puts those images to small for the product I left as blank back on that product. Those of us with 1000's of images don't have time to go through and select which ones to leave off of that product price update and I know I can't remember which ones I need to leave off. I do think the system should automatically not offer an image that is not large enough on a product. Might help with some of the returns of those trying to sale an image that's 3000 pixels for example on a shower curtain which is to small of a file.

Edit - Donna's comment above might solve this issue to. If a product is marked to not be available, then have a formula that doesn't affect those images when doing bulk price editing.

When I administer contests, I go through all the entries and do an initial vote. I then return to those images and take a second look at them. It would be nice if under "My Contest" I could scroll through "My Votes" without having to go back and forth between the "my contest" tab and the "images" tab (where I end up when I look at the image I've voted for).

If this isn't possible, it would just be nice if the images under "my votes" didn't randomly rearrange themselves when I look at each one.

Thank you.

Could FAA please have the default for canvas NOT be the mirrored sides!

Anything else would be better: black sides and white sides as the default!

It would be helpful to me if FAA could let the browsers remember me on my devices so it is easier to sign in without having to type in a password each time. Thanks for asking!

In the discussion forum, allow individuals to set defaults for timing of posts. For example, I would like to set a default so that I initially see posts in order of latest posting, not latest replies. The old arrows alongside the posting column label worked a lot better that the current process, but I would still prefer setting a default somewhere.

Gill Billington

I agree with Jessica. Mirrored sides on a lot of my canvas prints look really odd. I would appreciate being able to choose a different default for the sides in the edit screen as I don’t think buyers always realise what it will look like especially when choosing a larger size where the sides are not so obvious.

I agree with Donna's suggestion below. This would be a wonderful feature to add.

"I would dearly love an ON and OFF button for products. It takes a very long time to go through and blank out each and every space on those products that have many sizes, etc. An On and Off option would be heavenly!"

Agree with Jessica & Gill about the problem with gallery wrapped canvas. Black or white sides is the preferable default. Fewer surprises & returns.

My suggestion would be to make Matte, not Glossy, the canvas default.

Thanks :-)

+1 for Douglas suggestion

I think it would be important to have fullfilment centers for each products in the European Union for the EU market.
As now we have to pay import duty tax after every item purchased outside of EU (this includes now UK too) independently of price of the item.

Before European buyers had cards from UK and the prints without tax, and some small items could be under 22 euro...now only prints but all the other products with the huge shipping cost plus the additional tax are just killed it all, not going to happen to sell anything to buyers in the EU except maybe prints.

As two example , if a buyer want something from Pixels from Portugal:

Tote bag price 23.73 eur
Shipping from US 33.90 eur (!)
= 57.62 eur
+tax 26.00+4
= 87.62eur
(Nobody will pay this in EU for a Tote Bag)

Greeting Card price 7.58eur
Shipping from UK 19.02eur
=26.60
+tax 26.00+4
= 56.60eur for a single Greeting card...

This valid on every items..

I don't know about others, I am asked several times if I can somehow ship these products from an EU shop.
I joined FAA because one of the reason was that produce and ship things from 16 fullfilment centers worldwide, always closest to the location of the order. Fast realized if buyer is in the EU it was valid only on prints and cards from UK. Now with the new taxing and Brexit and all, forget it...
And I wouldn't like to join for an European pod and put all my things to another site when FAA would be so perfect for everything, except this.

I thought one of the reason was to have the Pixels site maybe  because Fine Art America name not the best for European market.. but if there are no fullfilment centers in the EU for all the products now way to sell anything except prints for the EU market.

So it would be great to have solution for this, to have lower shipping cost for European buyers too and purchasing items without tax as they would come from EU to EU.

Thank you

I suggested earlier that group discussions be made sortable (newest first) like general discussions.

In fact SOMETIMES they are, as spotted by Donna.

Example:
The link from the mains discussion page is this
https://fineartamerica.com/showmessages.php?messageid=6902407
(NOT SORTABLE)

the link going through the group is this
https://fineartamerica.com/groups/challenge-addicts-club.html?showmessage=true&messageid=6902407
(SORTABLE)

Same discussion, the first one goes through showmessages.php which I guess inserts the sort function. The second one does not.

Please include the option of a tiny "from" card (the "from" person would be the purchaser) ... you can even charge $1.00 or something ... when someone purchases one of our items. (It could be the size of a standard business card.)

That way Gramma (who lives in Montana) gets a new mug with my snowmen on it (from her granddaughter in Florida for example) ... as a Christmas gift. She now knows who it came from.

Otherwise the purchaser has to have the mug sent to themselves ... then they have to send it on to Gramma. More expense, more time lost, more inconvenience.

With all the problems with delivery lags, things getting lost, and of course skyrocketing cost, this cuts down on an extra cost and bother to our customers (and to us of course) of resending the product. Especially at the holidays.

And with the OPTION of a "from" card, FAA could get additional profit on the from card, and make more sales ... especially on the weeks closer to the holidays!

Cool idea, RIGHT????

Could we please get the ability to tile our images on some of the larger products like duvets?

That would be so awesome!

Adding: I do know that I can create a seamless tile in my own software and upload that image which as of now is my only option and would be fine IF I had more time to work on them but I would like to be able to use a quick tile here on site to be able to offer those products until I can get all my images updated.

Thanks for considering!

:)

It would be nice to have the same option of choosing sides for a 5/8 depth canvas print. It seems the only choice is white. Why not black and mirrored like the deeper canvas?

Search Function

Of coarse we all want to be on page one - put that aside for a minute.

When searching, almost any key word, many times a single artist, along with other top sellers, takes over many pages, often times with work that is not even relative to the search keyword.

I get best sellers come first and I agree with that as a number one criteria.

But more variety I would think to be a good thing in general. When searching as a customer it is frustrating to go though pages and pages that don't even come close to what I am searching for. Or pages doninated by page after page of the exact same image in all different colors, etc.

A good variety seems to be a big plus on online shopping sites - no matter the item being sold.

Just saying. This is something my customers and friends have shared with me.

Hire a blockchain dev and expand into NFTs. Cheers

I agree with Dora.
We need a fullfilment center in UE (and not UK) for as many products as possible).

Also, small prints ordered in UE should be printed by the Netherlands fullfilment center not the UK.

Today, big prints ship from the Netherlands, a small print will also ship from Netherlands if if it is in the same cart than a bigger print. Good.

BUT a small print ordered alone will ship from UK. Why ???

Wow agree with many on here.
From a better search function so that it is more keyword based, and not just those in the limelight to being able to include our personal email contact information as opposed to the email on FAA.

But for me I would like to see the right click feature turned off. I know it is possible, I do it on my website, so why doesn't FAA have the site set up this way. You can right click on any image and save it.

I have had a couple of Tweeter comments asking if they could have some of my abstract images printed on long t-shirt
dresses that hit the ankles, which taller ladies also full figured ladies prefer or as an example on 'Simply Dresses' with printed images on formal gowns or evening dresses, and another example is also on Le Gallerist (in Canada) (which I have been with and they've some of my images printed on what they call "wearable art"). These are just suggestions to expand the clothing line a bit for customers to have more options if possible, thank you for considering my ideas.

Limit the number of entries for contests. There's currently a contest that allows 10 images for each artist and has almost 2300 total entries. There aren't enough hours in my day for life and review/vote on 2300+ images (64 pages of thumbnails). I would guess many here (including myself) don't vote when they see 500+ entries. I suggest limit of 2 entries each and 250-300 max total. When the max is reached, push the contest to voting phase.

Possibly brought up before, but I was reading about New York's ban on single use plastic bags. A lot of stores are selling the reusable grocery bags now. Figured this would be a good item for FAA to market, but with our art on it.

For the Email Campaign Tool, may I suggest an update to the email template? The contests and groups had an update in recent years, and it has been many years since the email campaign tool got this as well. Many email list services have bloomed since, but our Campaign Tool has not moved with them.

The closest to the features I think would be - www.buttondown.email - for your consideration.

Thank you very much!

Re. Greeting Card Sales ~ It would be awesome if, on the sales announcement page, a designation would kindly be made when more than one greeting card is sold.

For example, today I sold a 25-pack of greeting cards. However, the sales announcement states I sold “a” greeting card (singular).

It would be marvelous if it read something like, “sold a 25-pack” or “10-pack”, depending on the quantity. This would also look more accurate when promoting on social media, and might encourage others to buy multi-card packs as well.

Thank you very much in advance for your kind consideration, and thank you for having this suggestion thread, which is greatly appreciated. God bless you.

Can you separate the different prints?

I'd really like to be able to price them with a different price - more for canvas, less for this and that. Maybe you can set it up so there is one master price for everything, but for advanced users, to be able to tweak things.

For others they want to sell just one kind of print or eliminate one kind of print.

Also a reminder, that I would love seeing a check box that turns on whole sections or sizes, but keeps their pricing intact would still be awesome.
