I would like to hear more about how this style differs from the old style.

This is under the assumption that this discussion is about style comparison.

You can see many animals on that face. Almost of animals in Viet Nam, it is connected with argicultural field

I can see the difference. Can you build a little more on the more traditional aspects of Vietnam traditional representation of animals in art?

Your ideas are welcomed and new styles are excellent discussion material.

Asian stylized art is a huge and broad subject. It's world influence can not be measured.

Vietnam traditional in art, we draw animals as a friend of human. You can see Dong Ho painting, Hang Trong paiting but I put them on faces. Traditional combines with moden.

Nguyen, style is a good subject to discuss. Remember to frame a new discussion away from self promotion.

Keep up the great work and I certainly would like to learn more about Vietnam art!

Nguyen, face masks are nearly universal in traditional art and traditional performing art.

How are masks used in traditional Vietnamese culture and do you have ideas on how you could interject your new styled masks into the performing arts?

Here is an example of a mask design intended to be used as a prop in a series of films in production. I don't want to get into what I am doing beyond the fact that there is an interest in cultural masks both new and traditional.

Drew, in Viet Nam we use masks for Tuong or Cheo performent but it only describe the charactor. They draw on their faces. I have not thought about using my painting in this field yet. My works are simple lacquer paintings. Thanks for your comments and suggestions!

Here, there is an inheritance from the traditional theater of using masks or drawing directly on the face with a very high degree of convention and generalization to define the types of people in society. It shows personality and social position. Is the soul of the character in each ancient play. It also affects my concept of painting. When I draw these faces, the difference in my work is that I don't re-illustrate the characters.

Very nice art!

I took a little time a read about Vietnamese tradition masks and there is a long history in reference to them.

Here's a link for comparison:

Drew: That are faces on Tuong drama. Tuong employs the use of stock characters who are recognizable from their make-up and costumes, which are typically very elaborate and extravagant.
