Thank you for the feature of my “Bald Eagle Landing” by Patti Deters. A great American Bald Eagle flies in for a landing on her nest with a young baby chick waiting for food. Presented against a lush green digital/textured forest and mountain background. These birds are fantastic, especially when you can capture them up close like this. Being a raptor, the talons are huge and the intense look in his eyes would scare off any prey he was after. Olive tree (Olea europaea), Lefkada, Ionian Islands, Greece, September 2020. Colour photograph with digital paint effect. In 1684, after the Venetians conquered the island, they ordered that olive cultivation should increase. Inland from Lefkada Town, there are still many olive groves, with very old trees, though the town has of course expanded into them over the years, and further out various houses and holiday accommodation have been built among them.

Water droplets on a leaf symbolize life as it begins. The seemingly endless number of circles, in varying sizes of development, appear to use the veins of the leaf as a highway toward their destiny. Each one quivering, pulsating, full of promise, moving upward and out into the unknown future. In the blurry background is the promise of untold numbers waiting to embark on their own journey.

Thank you all for the votes for my “Greylag Goose Couple” by Patti Deters. A pair of graylag geese (Anser anser) appear to be discussing something important as they swim along in a shallow pond. The mottled and barred grey / white feathers and plumage along with the orange beak make this a striking bird when you see it among other types of waterfowl. Greylags are the ancestors of most domestic geese here in the United States. Photographed near Winona, Minnesota and presented up close with textures and a digital background for artistic interest. Thank you for the votes "Trumpeter Swan Peek-A-Boo" by Patti Deters. This Trumpeter swan was preening, but because he was looking directly at the photograph with his head tucked under the wings, it appears to look like he is playing a game of peek-a-boo! This is an outdoor macro close-up of an adult Cygnus buccinator, complete with the iconic beautiful white feathers of these great white waterfowl.
