Gardening soothes the gardener's soul and replenishes the spirit. The gardener's garden is always filled with many colorful fragrant blooming plants, and every morning the gardener wakes up to the sounds of birds and beautiful views of the garden.

This artwork is a tribute to 'His Purpleness.'I created it in memory of Prince, a talented singer, songwriter & artist who contributed so much to the world with his creative energy and genius.

A beautiful enchanting mermaid lives under the sea. They call her Song of The Sea. When the mermaid sings, all sea creatures gather around her to hear her sing.

I enjoy prepping panel board for painting by applying several coats of gesso -- once each application is dry,
I sand the surface, wipe off residue with a damp cloth, repeating application procedure until I have a pristine,
smooth satin surface ready for my brushes to glide on.

I created this self-portrait as an example for those of my painting students who were uneasy about creating a self portrait.
They recognized me immediately by my posture, taking up the challenge to portray themselves in ways they were most comfortable with.

Hello Everyone!!

Who doesn't love hummingbirds? Hummingbirds are native to the Americas. With about 360 species you will find them from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego, but the vast majority are found in the tropics. They are small birds, with most species measuring 3 to 5 inches in length. The smallest hummingbird is the 2 inch bee hummingbird while the largest is the 9 inch giant hummingbird. They are specialized for feeding on flower nectar, but all species consume flying insects or spiders.
This is a watercolor painting I created while participating in an art Challenge with other artists here at Fineartamerica. Our goal is to create a brand new piece of art each day for five days straight. The theme for this Challenge is the color GREEN. I will be creating watercolor paintings for the challenge as I aim to improve my watercolor skills. This is Day 4.

The turquoise fronted parrot, also called the blue fronted parrot, is a South American species of amazon parrot and one of the most common parrots kept in captivity as a pet. Its common name is derived from the distinctive turquoise marking on its head just above its beak.
